The family dove that is seen everywhere in towns and cities. Its coloration varies enormously, from white to multicolored.
The familiar domestic pigeon of our towns and cities descends from the feral wild pigeons of southern Europe. Its appearance varies enormously. Some domestic pigeons that look a lot like wild pigeons can be difficult to differentiate from zurite pigeons, although their distinctive features include two black stripes on each wing, white rump, and underside of clear wings. Domestic pigeons and wild birds have reddish legs, red-orange eyes, and gray beaks, sometimes with a white base.
It feeds on legumes, grains, seeds, food waste that it looks for in garbage in urban areas. Young birds feed on semi-digested regurgitated food.
