Main features:
• Head is narrow oval in shape, has a narrow neck, robust body and relatively short tail.
• Basic color ranges from light golden brown to creamy yellow, broken by two irregularly shaped longitudinal stripes.
• They have a complex and developed sense of smell as well as touch. They have vertical pupils like all species of nocturnal habits.
Reproduction:
• Oviparous species.
• Young will be born and will develop after their mother lays her eggs. During the laid, these snakes coil around the eggs to provide warmth necessary.
Feeding:
• It is a carnivorous species.
• Its diet consists of mammals and birds, it can also eat amphibians (frogs, toads) and fish,even other smaller reptiles or snakes.
Distribution:
• Natural habitat is in Central and West Africa, including the countries from Nigeria, Uganda, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Ghana, Benin and Togo.
